White2Tea 2018 Lullaby White Tea Review

Today I am reviewing ‘Lullaby’ white tea from White2Tea.

Tea Specifications

Brand: White2Tea
Tea: Lullaby
Vintage: 2018
Origin: Yunnan, China

The tea cake seems to look like a typical white peony tea, but you can tell it has been aged a little due to the darker colors.

I put the entire tea coin into a small glass pitcher using distilled water.

After brewing, the tea was filtered through a stainless steel mesh strainer.

I washed the tea for 20 seconds and discarded the rinse.

First Steep

Steeped for 40 seconds.

I decided to steep this one a little longer then I usually would have, because the last time I tried one of these mini tea coins from White2Tea, it took an extremely long time to unfurl.

That being the case, the flavor is a bit stronger then I would normally prefer.

Notes of hay, oats, apricot, and chrysanthemum, with just a little tartness.

The tea broth has a decent texture and a relatively light color.

Second Steep

Steeped for 40 seconds.

I did not increase the brew time because I felt perhaps I brewed it to long the first steep.

The tea broth has become noticeable darker on the second steep.

The apricot taste has become a bit sharper, almost sort of like a nectarine.

A little bitter as well, but in my opinion, it’s more tart then bitter.

The tea seems to dry the mouth a little after drinking it.

Third Steep

Steeped for 40 seconds.

This steep has a relatively strong astringency for a white tea.

The tea coin has thus far retained it’s original shape and has not unfurled.

A tart, fruity tasting tea.

I actually enjoyed this one more then White2Tea ‘Censers’ white tea, but similarly to Censers, this tea coin could benefit from a looser pressing.
