The Harumidori Tea Cultivar

Harumidori is a tea cultivar which was developed at the Makurazaki Station of the National Institute of Vegetable and Tea Science.

It was registered as Cha Norin No. 48 in August 2000.

It is a cross between the well-known Yabukita tea cultivar and the Kanayamidori tea cultivar.

Harumidori has a very high yield and is often processed into sencha green tea.

It’s harvest date is typically 5 days before the Yabukita tea cultivar.

Flavor of Harumidori Green Tea

Harumidori produces a mellow-tasting green tea with minimal astringency.
