Gu Zhu Zi Sun Tea

Gu Zhu Zi Sun (紫笋) is a green tea from the Changxin County in Zheijiang Province, China.

The name Zi Sun translates to ‘purple bamboo shoots’ and describes the tea varietal’s unopened leaf shoots, which often have a purple glimmer.

Gu Zhu is the name of the original village where this tea was grown.

This tea was particularly popular during the Tang Dynasty due to Lu Yu, an ancient tea master, promoting it.
