Shou mei is a common white tea which is produced from naturally withered leaves and tips.

It is grown primarily in the Fujian province of China, and is typically of the Da Bai cultivar.

It is also considered a fourth-grade tea, and a by-product of Bai Hao Yinzhen, which is an all-bud picking of the same plants. Since shou mei is picked later in the season, the tea can have a darker color in comparison to earlier pickings such as Bai Mudan.

    Aroma & Flavor Profile

The flavor is sometimes described as similar to a light oolong tea, but with elements of earth and spice.
