The Uji Hikari Tea Cultivar

Uji Hikari is an unregistered tea cultivar from Uji, Japan which is commonly use to produce gyokuro and matcha tea.

It is a fairly uncommon varietal on the open tea market.

The word Hikari comes from the Japanese word for light and describes the atmosphere produced by the combination of the morning sun and the misty fog found around these tea plantations.
