Today I am reviewing a 2017 Turtle Dove white tea from White2Tea.
Tea: Turtle Dove
Origin: Yunnan, China
Harvest: Spring, 2017
White2Tea states that this tea was tested and passed inspection for over 440 pesticides and herbicides on the EU MRL list.
I decided to brew this tea in a small glass pitcher using bottled water.
I believe that the tea coin weighs about 7 grams.
I then rinsed the tea in hot water for 5 seconds.
Steeped for 30 seconds.
Tastes like hay water with a little bit of dark honey in it.
Very weak flavor, but I sometimes find White2Tea’s tea coins to be heavily compressed, so perhaps the next steep will yield something more.
Steeped for 45 seconds.
Tastes like tea now, but honestly, this tea does not standout to me.
It doesn’t seem unique at all, but actually rather generic.
Steeped for 1 minute.
One thing I can say about this tea is that it isn’t very astringent.
It’s smooth and very drinkable, but there just isn’t much to it.
The price is reasonable, but I think you could do better.
