Junshan Yinzhen (君山银针) is a type of yellow tea that is grown on Junshan Island in the Hunan Province of China.
It is considered one of the famous teas of China and is known for its rarity, as only the tea leaves harvested before Qing Ming (a specific date in the Chinese calendar) are used for its production.
The remaining leaves are processed into other teas, such as Jun Shan Mao Jian and Jun Shan Lu Cha.
The same cultivars which are used to produce Junshan Yinzhen are also grown in the surrounding Dong Ting Lake region, but the resulting teas are not considered authentic Junshan Yinzhen.
