Today’s review is a Minnan Narcissus Oolong Tea from a new tea company called iTeaWorld, although they state on their website that this specific tea is selected from another company called Yongchun Tea Factory.

They also mention that the tea plants used to produce this tea were planted in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Update as of 12/03/2023: Although the name of this tea was originally “Minnan Narcissus”, it appears to have now been renamed “Minnan Shuixian”.

    Tea Specifications

    Brand: iTeaWorld
    Tea: Minnan Narcissus Oolong Tea
Origin: Dongguan Town, Yongchun, Fujian, China

    Review

    Amount of Tea: 3.5 Grams
    Brewing Vessel: Small Glass Pitcher
    Type of Water: Spring Water
    Rinse Time: 5 Seconds
    Steep Time: 30 seconds / 40 seconds / 45 seconds

At the first steep, this is a somewhat mellow, predominantly floral tasting tea, with notes of orchid, tart fruit, an underlying grain-like sweetness, and a moderate, yet pleasing roast.

In later steeps, the notes of tart fruit fades into the background, emphasizing elements of autumn leaves, grass, and charcoal.

The tea is generally well-balanced, without any contrasting notes, and has a nice sweetness to it.

Flavor notes: Orchid, tart pear, rice cereal, autumn leaves, charcoal, and grass.
