A tisane (pronounced “ti-zahn”), also known as herbal tea or herbal infusion, is a beverage made by steeping or extracting the contents of herbs, spices, flowers, leaves, seeds, roots, or fruits in hot water.
Unlike traditional tea, which comes from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, tisanes are often caffeine-free and do not contain true tea leaves.
