Matcha tea is a type of green tea that is known for its vibrant green color and grassy flavor profile.

To produce matcha tea, the tea plants are shaded during the last 6 to 8 weeks of the growing process. The leaves are then carefully harvested, steamed, de-stemmed, and then dried before being ground into a fine powder.

This powder is then whisked with hot water to create a frothy, green concoction.

Matcha tea has a distinct, rich taste that is often described as grassy, earthy, slightly sweet, and “vegetal”.

    Aroma Profile

The aroma of matcha tea can be broken down into different notes and nuances.

The top notes of matcha tea are fresh and grassy, with a hint of sweetness.

This is followed by the middle notes, which are slightly nutty and creamy.

The base notes of matcha tea are earthy and slightly bitter, giving the tea a complex and balanced aroma.
