    Definition

    Clotted Cream (Noun):

    1. Clotted cream is a thick, rich cream made by indirectly heating full-cream cow’s milk using steam or a water bath and then allowing it to cool slowly. During this process, the cream content rises to the surface and forms clots, hence the name “clotted cream”.

    Example Sentences

    1. “The scones were served with a dollop of clotted cream and a spoonful of strawberry jam.”
    2. “She couldn’t resist the rich, velvety taste of clotted cream.”
    3. “During their trip to Devon, they made sure to try the famous clotted cream.”

    Notes

    • Clotted cream is particularly associated with the southwestern regions of England, such as Devon and Cornwall, where it is a traditional component of cream teas, and is often served with scones and jam.
    • It has a high-fat content, typically around 55-65%, which gives it a very luxurious, almost buttery texture and a slightly nutty, sweet flavor.
    • In regards to its texture, it’s spreadable and thicker than whipped cream but not as solid as butter.
