The Meaning of Zhu Rong
Verdant Tea states that this tea was named after the Lady Zhu Rong, a fictional character from the 14th century Chinese historical novel ‘Romance of the Three Kingdoms’, which is considered one of the four great classical novels of Chinese literature.
In the story, Lady Zhu Rong was a strong warrior Queen who wielded flying daggers and rebelled against the Shu army after her husband was defeated by the Shu general Ma Dai. She was later captured and forced to pledge allegiance to Shu, although she was allowed to maintain rule over the Nanzhong region.
